And now, for something a little different...
I give you a list of products that I swear by, that make me happy, and that I use on a weekly, if not daily basis.

1.  OPI nail polish - Okay, I started buying this for the names of the colors, but this is the best nail varnish ever!  I don't use polish on my fingernails because I'm a mom, and I wash dishes and scrub bathtubs and get knots out of tennis shoes, so what's the point?  But I always, always have polish on my toes.  The colors I love are:  "Aphrodite's Pink Nightie, Edin-Burgundy, Oh, To Be 25 Again, & Yucatan if U Want."  I mean, when someone asks you what color your nail polish is, how fun is it to say "My Chihuahua Bites!"

2.  The Orient Emporium Tea Company - Yes, I realize it's cold out, and these are ready-to-drink teas, but they're wonderful!  My favorite is the Green tea with Pomegranate, ironically enough. (Pomegranate?  Persephone?  Okay, I'm a dork.)   And the white tea with Orange Clementine is also good.  I mean, they definitely aren't Diet Coke, but what is?  Other than Diet Coke.  You know what I mean.

3.  Netflix - Do you have this?  Why don't you have this?  It is the best thing ever!  My sister and brother-in-law got us a gift subscription 2 years ago and we love it, it's been one of the best gifts we've ever received.  You go online and pick out the movies you want to see, they deliver them to the house, you keep 'em as long as you want and then drop them in the mail when you're done.  We get giddy when we see the red & white envelope in the stack of other crap that the U.S. Postal service drops off at our house every day.  And if I could keep Nolan from going online and putting war movies in my queue, it'd be perfect!

4.  Express Jeans - I have a curvy body type, which mean that when I find jeans to fit my gigantic ass, they usually gape at the waist.  These jeans don't - they are fabulous.  They are worth the money, if you wear jeans in the winter as often as I do.  I have three pairs of different styles.  Long boot cut, and short, for when I wear flat shoes.  I have a couple of different sizes, too.  *cough*

5.  Caldrea Hand Soap and Lotion - These smell great and have a cute little caddy that looks fantastic sitting beside your sink, whether it's the kitchen or the bathroom.  My favorite scents are seasonal or discontinued, of course, (Rose Pomegranate (!) and White Tea) but they're all rather nice.  It makes you happy to wash your hands!

6.  Ralph Lauren Pure Turquoise - my perfume of choice right now.  Very classy. I bought it when I was in NYC, and I really like it.  I also like 'Ralph Rocks'.  It's more fun and flirty.

7.  Reef Flip Flops - I know that $40 is a LOT to spend on a pair of flip flops.  But seriously, I wear them A LOT (except in the wintertime) and they are the most comfortable flip flops ever in the world.  Another recommendation from sis.  I've never looked back.  I own them in black and brown.

8.  Clif Bars - In Crunchy Peanut Butter.  I have one for breakfast at least a couple of days a week.  They are SO good.  I mean, for a protein bar.  If you are looking for sweets, they aren't it, but I like them.

9.  My toothbrush - Can a toothbrush make you happy?  I'm here to tell you that it can.  This guy has a little pad on the back of it that massages your cheeks while you brush.  Try it.  You will not be disappointed!

10.  Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste - because I've already showed how much of a dork I am with number 9, I'll stick this in to round it out.  This stuff has little mini breath strips in it to freshen breath, and it's whitening toothpaste, as well.  Win/win, I say.

Oh, for crying out LOUD this is fun!  It's almost impossible to keep up with, like a 24 hour a day soap opera!  I absolutely adore writing Pansy Parkinson with all of her flaws and bitchiness, it's seriously the most fun I've had writing in months.  I adore the girls that I've been writing with and all of their characters as well, even the ones you love to hate.  It's so great, I think I'm going to have to buy a more comfy desk chair, because this one's just not cutting it anymore!  I really can't wait for some combinations of characters to be in the same room together...

That said, Hubs is off on his yearly Elk Expedition.  I'm husbandless for a week!  Anyone want to scene? (hee!)

Isn't it the best? How silly to love something like a toothbrush!

But if you don't love the small things, wouldn't it be harder to love the big things?

You are wise beyond your years, Caroline.

*hugs* You know me, ping away on the scening *grin* And Greg wants me to say "Flaws? What flaws? Pansy has no flaws!" *grin* Oh my, I can think of a few combinations that are likely to cause quite the explosion if we put them in a room together!

Ohh, husband free?! Lucky you!

Loved your list. I use OPI as well. It was good to see I'm not the only one that gets a kick out of the names!
Carrie Leigh: club a mugglecarrie_leigh on November 4th, 2007 05:42 pm (UTC)
OPI is fun. I might have been known to buy a color just for the name.

Greg is biased(in a wholly sweet way). That's all I have to say.;)

*giggle* I'm glad I'm not the only one who does. I have a shelf just for nail polish- it makes my hubby roll his eyes and mutter.

As for Greg being biased...never *snicker* HE is a sweetie though isn't he.

But war movies are so awesome!

Sadly, that was not sarcasm. I got brainwashed by this two month summer class I had, where we watched 20+ war movies. Favorite class ever!

He got 'Lifeboat' with Tallulah Bankhead last week. The whole thing takes place in a LIFEBOAT. *sigh*

I'm a 'Zip' kinda girl... which is the exact same thing as Netflix but in Canada... and I agree - It's made of complete love (Though I'm also with Lynds and Nolan... I like War movies. I'm the anti-chick-flick girl).

And YAY for knowing what you smell like... LOL! I smell like Hypnotic Poison... in case you were wondering. ;)
Carrie Leigh: vintage winkcarrie_leigh on November 4th, 2007 05:44 pm (UTC)
Really? War movies? I love movies that make me laugh. Romantic Comedies. Classics.

I don't think I've ever smelled hypnotic poison... but the name rocks!

MM, I meet your soap and raise you one better on it... I use homemade soap my Aunt makes, for the ... (wait for it) "Happy Hippy Soap Company"

Great list though... and Snape is bored. Have Pansy pop by whenever.
Carrie Leigh: Pansy smirkcarrie_leigh on November 4th, 2007 05:46 pm (UTC)
I tried to make soap once. Disastrous results. Buy it now, always.

Pansy and Snape, huh? *Thinks*
nbaeker: oh did i do thatnbaeker on November 4th, 2007 06:02 pm (UTC)
not *that* way... well, actually. if Snape hears me say that I'd be in trouble... so however Pansy wishes to interact with him is great. *snigger*

Unfortunately, yes *sigh*

The plot bunnies are literally driving me insane! They're popping in from everywhere and demanding my attention :/

Oh! I've never even heard of Reef Flip Flops before! I'm a total shoe girl. I will have to check these out. Thanks!

That Orient Tea looks amazing! Seriously, I am such a tea addict that I'm going to have to try it, though it might be a bit weird switching to cold teas at this point. At the moment, I'm currently obsessed with black tea with milk and sugar added.
Carrie Leigh: tea makes it bettercarrie_leigh on November 5th, 2007 02:25 pm (UTC)
My favorite hot tea is made by The Republic of Tea. Mate Latte is good; it's billed as the coffee drinker's tea, and it's fabulous, seriously. You must add milk to complete the experience. I love it. And I'm super fond of Jasmine tea. Yay for winter in the Panhandle where I can drink hot tea and not burst into flames!
