NaBloPoMo - National Blog Posting Month - The First Day
It has been perhaps years since I've blogged on a daily basis. I guess I don't have as much to say as I used to? Or maybe I'm just out of the habit, but regardless of the reason, I've decided to throw myself into NaBloPoMo with verve and gusto, and see where it lands me. (Thanks, elle_blessing for the shove. I needed it.)

So yesterday was HALLOWSCREAM, easily my favorite holiday of the year. I taught two classes of theatre students (who go all out when it comes to creative costumes, pictures below) and had dinner at my house with some dear friends afterwards. It was a lovely day, all in all, even if we only got 6 trick-or-treaters because we live on a street that only has houses on one side and there's not a lot of payoff to even go DOWN our street AND we have 21 steps leading up to our front door and if I were a trick-or-treater, I'd be like, "Nah, I'm not doing that, even if they were handing out full size Snickers bars." (Well, maybe for full size Snickers bars. I won't lie.)

These were just a few of my students; I didn't get to take pics of them all. Jason and I (center) were 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and an 'Iced Caramel Macchiato (full fat), Short.' From the top left, they were as follows: Girl Robin, Blue, from Blue's Clues, Cleopatra, Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas (won 1st prize), and a half-zombie Marilyn Monroe (her makeup was AWESOME), John Cougar, a hipster and Sherlock Holmes, a mummified Barbie (She was dressed in a cute dress, but we'd played a mummy toilet paper improv game, a soccer mom and Swine Flu (which made me laugh out loud), Tina Turner (won 1st prize) and leftovers, a pink flamingo, and A Minecraft Creeper and Wilson from Home Improvement)

AJ was Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians.

And Ethan didn't dress up. He did walk around in a muscle shirt, intent on "scaring girls."

And this is my favorite shot of the night:
At this point in the evening, my caramel drizzle was getting hard to control. And my whipped cream molted all over the place.

Anyway, hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween, and that you don't have a sugar headache from all the candy you ate, yesterday.

Because I certainly don't.

I'm glad! It's been too long since so many of us have talked on a regular basis.

Wow, you don't keep busy or anything. O.O

I love your and AJ's costumes! So creative and so perfect. Also love the one with Nolan at the end. Hehehehehe XD

Only had one piece of candy yesterday. Thy name is restraint.

Ugh. If only I'd had one. I made this popcorn/candy corn/honey roasted peanut snack mix thing that could be quite literally the most addictive thing on the planet. UGH.

Sweet and salty. You consciously, purposefully created your own kryptonite. (Good thing it only happens once a year?)

Okay, your costume is the cutest thing EVER! Love.

Yay NaBloPoMo! I'm going to try and get a picture of my costume tonight and toss it up tomorrow. We'll see. :)

Thanks! Praise Jesus for the internet.

Did you put up a pic of the costume? I missed it, if so...

What a PRECIOUS costume! As ever - you are creative and fun. Nolan Kyle's hat is splendid as well. *giggles*

Nolan got that hat when he was sixteen on a family trip to Disneyworld. His mother gave it to the boys, and he re-appropriated it for this picture. :P
