Costumes and Casts

I just finished my most recent project for ALT: A Dress for the Queen of Hearts (The Red Queen?) in the Academy's production of Alice in Wonderland (my all-time favorite children's book).

I absolutely adore taking this:

And turning it into this:

P.S. The production is this weekend. If you live in the area, you should totally go see it.

And in other news, my kid managed to break his arm riding his bike this weekend (is there anything more terrifying than hearing your child cry out in pain?). This means: He didn't get to play in the championship game yesterday, and he won't get to try out for basketball next week. He was bummed. For a minute.

But since Ethan's bounceback is .000004 seconds, then he said, "There's always eighth grade, and I'll do off season track. That'll be fun!

Then, as I was paying, adding up how many x-rays and doctor visits are in our future, he continued, "Breaking your arm is really SO cool!"

To which I replied blandly, "Well, I'm SO glad you're pleased." :P
