All The World's a Stage

You want to know how I know?  After I told Ethan to "Have a good day at school,"  when dropping him off this morning, Aaron pipes up with "Break a leg!"  And not even in an 'I'm your brother and I'd really like you to break a leg' way.  He was sweetly sincere.  I love it!

Got a belated birthday package from Mom yesterday!  Thanks!  I love it all...  necklace, candle, wine magnets (too cute), and Wizard of Oz (Favorite Movie) calendar!  I love January and October the best...  It's the Wicked Witch (call her my mentor... ;)) with the movie quotes "I can cause accidents, too!"  and "All my beautiful wickedness is ruined!"  Is it a little twisted that I want icons of these quotes?  I truly must learn how to do that.  Anyone want to give me a tutorial?

Drinking:  Coffee

Wishing:  I didn't have a board meeting today.  I always feel useless.

Considering:  What I should do with my life next fall when AJ goes to kindergarten.

Feeling:  Frustrated.  In so many different ways...

Goals:  To finish the chapter I'm working on...  STUPID. WRITER'S. BLOCK.

Today's to do:  Read something for Hubby, go get a new pair of fishnet hose (man that sounds more exciting than it is!),  go to two meetings.

Things accomplished:  So far?  Made a pot of coffee, Got kids ready for school, posted to LJ, sent 4 reply emails.

Challenge!  Pick three categories and list your reply in the comments...

Splenda (which I believe is a gift from God) has started putting pithy little sayings on their packets a la Daisy Sour Cream( I think I posted about them back in October.  They don't make me happy).  Today's was, "It's sweet to be important, but it's important to be sweet."  That makes me nauseous, a little.  Just make no calorie sweetener and leave the pithy sayings to fortune cookies, people!

Those Wizard of Oz quotes would make perfect icons!

Splenda has to do something to boost sales. After the whole aspartame fiasco, they came out with Splenda...and now everyone is realizing their dirty little secret! They have to do everything in their power to appeal to their demographic.

So Wizard of Oz is your favorite movie? I swear I still have bad WoO flashbacks. When I was a kid and it would come on t.v, my entire family would sit there together and watch it, making a big deal of it. I dreaded that movie coming on like a trip to the dentist. That damn (excuse my language) scared me half to death, not to mention the freakish flying monkey thingys.

To this day, WoO has not been played in my house. We have the book, but I just can't get over my horrible emotional scars from childhood!

And yes, I'm only partly serious, mostly joking, but I find it so amusing how different people can have such different reactions to the same thing, you know?

Oh, no, the wicked witch and flying monkeys scared the crap out of me, too. I remember lying awake petrified to move because I was so scared. Later on, though, I watched it about a billion times and desensitized myself, kind of like an immersion therapy (although didn't know it at the time).

I haven't let my kids watch it. They're 6 & 4 and I don't think they're ready for it yet. :)
