Random thoughts as I drift off...
I have a new laptop. He needs a name, like... now. It's like having a baby and not naming it. Suggestions? He's strong and masculine, but put together.

The show I'm in is so solid, and we've got 3 more weeks of rehearsal. I've never worked with a more professional group of people.  Truly a pleasure.  Not a diva in the bunch.  And that's saying something when you're talking about a bunch of actresses.

I'm exhausted, and my fingers are sore from all the pinpricks from sewing umpteen million bags for Nolan's Haiti trip.

I've outlined my dgficexchange  story. I feel the freedom to try something a bit different this time around.  I think It will either be loved or completely hated by all.

It's completely amazing how passive aggressive some people are.  I'm telling you:  MIND BLOWING.  And not in a 1970's, laid back, groovy way, either.  >:(

I am:: bed!
I feel:: sleepysleepy
I hear:: Nolan snoring. :)

Derek?
Carrie Leigh: bad examplecarrie_leigh on February 17th, 2010 01:38 pm (UTC)
I have a real life friend who's son is named Aiden. Her husband's name is Derek. If I came up with that as a name, I think she might put a restraining order out on me. ;)

I've never named a computer. I'm only good at naming pets and house elves. How do you feel about Toddy? ;)

Glad to hear the show is going well. :D It's so nice to get to work with people who understand that a play is a Team Effort.

Story of my fic-writing life, babe... :P Here's to freedom - go, Persephone! I'm sure it will be awesome.

LOL. Toddy. I'll think about it. ;)

I hope it will be awesome. It seems to be writing itself in my head. THAT hasn't happened in a while.

Hm. When I hear that, I think " A horse is a horse, of course of course..."

And no one can talk to a horse of course,
that is of course, unless the horse,
Is the famous Mister Ed!

I MISS YOU!

I'm SO glad that your show is so awesome! What a great feeling that must be.

Oh dear. We're having problems in PA land again? Do I even want to ask for details?

I love that both our 'babies' were born the same week! HEE! Mine was named before I even had him in my hands, but that's the kind of person I am. :D Besides, there was no doubt he'd be Malcolm, seeing as how my iPod's Donny, and well, to name something after Paolo just seems a bit... blasphemous? Gosh, I need a life. I don't know if I have any suggestions. Ooh--what about that one guy? The dad on Supernatural?

You've already started outlining for your dgexchange fic? You GO! That fills my cold little heart with glee! I was so glad when I saw that you had signed up, too!

Well, I've spent the last day sick in bed, but the good news is, I woke up feeling almost back to my old self and I have three nights off! So, I hope to see you around! Love ya!

p.s. Love your new layout! I think I might need a change soon. I've had mine up since my bday last year...

It goes without saying, but I miss you, too.

John, huh? Sharlene had the same suggestion. :D

I'm kind of excited about writing this year. It makes for a nice change.

Hope to see you around, too. Love!

I find it hard to believe any writing of yours could be "completed hated by all". :P

I BET IT ISN'T.

**hugs**

Sorry about the passive aggressive stuff. Never fun to deal with. :(

But yay on the awesome play rehearsals. :D

I don't have a specific name but I do like the idea of continuing the theme of Irish names, Aiden, etc. So another that is strong, masculine, Irish shouldn't be difficult to think of. On the subject of passive aggressive people---I would think you might have a little empathy? Can i remain anon?
Carrie Leigh: snark of warcarrie_leigh on February 17th, 2010 02:37 pm (UTC)
Re: random
You'd think I would have some empathy for passive aggressive people, wouldn't you? But the way I do it doesn't actively HURT other people.

And you couldn't be anonymous if you tried.

Naming a computer...
Do you guys talk to your computers...kind of like Ducky talks to dead bodies? If so, do you ever expect a reply? More than that, do you get one? Have you guys ever thought of starting your own cult? You don't need to shave your head or wear paper pants or anything but there is nothing wrong with a secret handshake and ceremonies during the dark of the moon. You guys are scary.

How about Killian? It's strong, dark and a lot of fun, like me? If you don't like that how about Fin, short for Finian? That way when you are typing and having a gay ole time you can lovingly caress his side and say "Oh, Fin, you make me so happy." and when he gets sick with one of those pesky viruses, picked up from somewhere he shouldn't have been no doubt, you can shake your finger at him and say "Finian, you no good two timing cheat. Now I have to call Matthew, the IT doctor, at $1000 an hour to get you well again." Just a thought.

Re: Naming a computer...
Dear NKH, You don't really care if they have do have a cult or if they talk to their computers do you, I know, it's the $1,000/hr that's your real prob isn't it? Your loving MIL
ATayane_tsurugi on February 17th, 2010 03:23 pm (UTC)
Well, I had a teacher in high school that named her computers after Calvin and Hobbes characters, which inspired me to name mind Garfield. I even named my wireless network Jon. But then again, I'm a bit silly.

As for a name for yours, well, the first name that comes to mind is Harris. Or, as a secondary option, Jackson. (Harris because I have an insane crush on the lead singer of The Thermals right now, and Jackson just because I like the name.)

Have fun with your new laptop, though! And with dgficexchange, which I had to repeatedly talk myself out of signing up for in fear that my to-do list would come to life and attack me. No one needs that many paper cuts.
Aylaabitofayla on February 17th, 2010 03:25 pm (UTC)
Atticus. One of the best literary characters ever. He did what he knew was right, just like this new computer will. Atticus was strong and masculine, but still knew the finer things in life that were important - family.
Aylaabitofayla on February 17th, 2010 03:29 pm (UTC)
I also like Arthur, as I have several items named that (old car, bear, etc.). But the reasons are different. (Who knew that Arthur means "bear" in Welsh? i certainly didn't!)

I prefer Atticus though. Very southern. Everyone loves a country boy :)
Celinaxoxrhapsodyxox on February 17th, 2010 03:25 pm (UTC)
Ok... I have three different names for you to try out.

1. D'Artagnan - Who doesn't want to name their computer after a sexy musketeer? Plus think of what the name implies - He will fight his way through the internet, slaying viruses, battling for you.

2. Ian...Ewan... maybe even Liam? - It's simple, clean, and sounds like a name that could be paired with Aiden. Aiden and Ian. Aiden and Liam They could be brothers.

3. Gerard - Just because I have a thing for Gerard Butler :)

My laptop's called Firefly. *pets* She's not in the least bit feminine, but it suits.

Yay for fic writing!
Elle Blessingway: Accio! Museelle_blessing on February 18th, 2010 12:34 am (UTC)
A manly name, hmm? Adrian? Marius? Landon? I'm now coming up blank. Good luck with the names!

Also, am jealous of your initiative. I'm still whining about my prompt, though I might have come up with a non-campy way to deal with one of requested elements, which makes me pleased; especially since the element in and of itself, is a bit campy.

Passive aggresiva. Urgh. MEH. MEEEEEH. That is my thoughts on the matter.

HERCULEEEEEES! HA! :D

I'm being silly. You said strong and masculine. *g* Although, D'Artagnan absolutely ROCKS! *nods*

I'm glad you're enjoying your show! I know you will do a fantastic job. :)

Clive. I have no idea where that came from, but: Clive.

I loved it when I did shows with a great group of people. It just makes everything come together so beautifully. I'm excited for you! :-)
