What's in a name?

So.  I have a question for the f-list.

I've seen memes that have gone around asking "How did you get your livejournal name?" (When she first found my journal, my mom asked me if I thought I was the Goddess of the Underworld, and I was literally stunned into silence for a minute.) But I know lots of your username stories already. What I really want to know is the story behind YOUR name. Like for instance, back in the seventies, my mom picked the nice, old-fashioned name of Carrie, like the baby in the Little House books. Then, the year after I was born, Stephen King comes out with the horror book  about the telekinetic girl that ruins her senior prom because she'd had it with kids teasing her. (I totally don't blame her.  They had it coming.)  To make matters worse, a movie came out three years later.  When you do a google image search of my name, that awful picture of Sissy Spacek in a pretty silk dress with pig's blood spattered all over it comes up.  Ew.  Ew, ew, ew.

I was gonna link to the picture, but... GROSS.  Y'all don't want to see that.  I can't believe I just typed 'pig's blood.'

Twice.

Anyway, that icky pic comes up, and then to a lesser extent I get links to Carrie Underwood, Carrie Bradshaw, and Carrie Miss California, who totally pissed Perez Hilton off, bless her little heart.

Carrie means 'strong woman' I think, and is a derivative of my mom's name, Carolyn.  Her story is that she didn't pick it because of that, she just liked the name.

What I'm getting at f-list, is this:  Where did you get your name?  What's the story on it?

And if you're weird about using rl names, you can tell me your username one again.  I love a good story.  Please?

Love!
