1 (18.25 oz.) package dark chocolate cake mix
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (16 oz.) container sour cream
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. coffee flavoured liquor (KAHLUA, BABY!)
2 cups (or 1 12 oz package) semisweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (175 C) Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan (Or use Baker's Joy!)
2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, oil, and coffee liquour. Beat until ingredients are well blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Batter will be thick. Spoon into prepared pan.
3. Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour, or until cake springs back when tapped. Cool 10 minutes in the pan, and then turn out and cool completely on wire rack. Yeild: 12 servings (Riiiight. Maybe 8?)
Fantastic Glaze (this part is what makes this all mine)
1 package semisweet chocolate chips
2 TBSP Kahlua
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1 stick (1/2) c. butter (don't even THINK about using margarine, shame on you!)
Melt all ingredients in saucepan over medium heat until smooth, stirring frequently, if not constantly. Let sit 1 minute, drizzle over cooled cake. And Oh, my.
I made these two for a ministry dinner we're going to tonight. Gorgeous, yeah?
On an altogether unrelated topic, hubby just called to tell me that Charity Baptist Church's marquis says,
"Harry Potter is an abomination unto God."
A. Ironic that the word Charity is in their name, as that implies grace of sorts...
B. An abomination? Or Harry Potter might just be very well written children's fiction...
C. I don't think God is concerned in the LEAST with Harry Potter...
D. This is how Satan gets to people... distracting them with the unimportant...
E. Small-minded people make me angry and sad....
F. This is why so many people avoid church... they think if they judge fiction that harshly, what are they gonna say about MY life...
Disapponting, is what it is.
