The Worst Thing That Happened To Me Today
A novella by
While putting sacks in the back of my Sequoia, I dropped a jar of specialty olives in the parking lot at the grocery store.

The End

Everything's alright.  :)  It just goes to show that what Thumper's mom advised still holds true.  If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

*that's all*

I *LOVE* you. (okay, I lied about it being all)
Carrie Leigh: Muttleycarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 08:25 pm (UTC)
Isn't that the saddest story, like EVER?

My Hubby would weep... He's on an olive kick right now.
Sharlenemynuet on September 15th, 2008 08:27 pm (UTC)
Were they black or green olives? Because it makes a difference to the level of tragedy involved.
Carrie Leigh: bitter lemonadecarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 08:29 pm (UTC)
They were Mezzetta Super Colossal Spanish Queen Stuffed Olives. My very favorite.
Sharlenemynuet on September 15th, 2008 08:30 pm (UTC)
Okay, that calls for at least a horrified gasp.
Carrie Leighcarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 08:31 pm (UTC)
I know. Simply awful.
seegrimseegrim on September 15th, 2008 09:31 pm (UTC)
What were they stuffed with? Pimento? Garlic? Inquiring minds want to know...
Carrie Leigh: a rainbow diescarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 09:32 pm (UTC)
Pimento! *sobs*
seegrimseegrim on September 15th, 2008 09:34 pm (UTC)
Now see, I'd be slightly more inclined to cry with you if they were garlic stuffed, but seriously, I'm still pretty sullen. I hope you pull through your day all the same. It must be rough--you know how I like my olives.

Shall I make you some tea to help you through this difficult time, darling?

Yes, thank you.

I'm a bad person.

I think the olives deserved to die. GROSS! ;)

Elizabethlittlebit_liz on September 15th, 2008 11:28 pm (UTC)
Exactly how much more special are specialty olives than regular olives? :p
Carrie Leigh: Chicago - happycarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 11:56 pm (UTC)
Um... I guess about twice as expensive, but a gazillion times tastier.

Eep! Did you go all Nancy Kerrigan in the parking lot? "Why me? WHY ME!!!???"
Carrie Leigh: Cheer upcarrie_leigh on September 15th, 2008 11:57 pm (UTC)
I did. It was VERY dramatic. And you know me; I bend that way anyhow.

what mom thinks is your wasting your writing talent. This "novella" could be much, much better!!! maybe flesh out the characters a bit and work on your plotting?

Everyone's a critic.
sue_bridehead on September 16th, 2008 03:17 am (UTC)
Poor baby...I'm sorry you lost your treats. Did you run back in and grab a replacement jar? Cause I would have, if it was me and I had the time.
Carrie Leigh: my twisted ever aftercarrie_leigh on September 16th, 2008 02:13 pm (UTC)
I didn't. Had I done so, the story might have a happy ending. Alas.
