I think word has spread in the animal kingdom.
*sigh* I know how this sounds.

I do. Honestly. Bunnies, squirrels, dolphins and the odd stone OWL are all on my list on nemeses. But now I have to add woodpeckers to the list.

There was a knocking on my side door; no one ever comes to that door, so I wander over to see who's there, and I see the red crested head of a woodpecker, pecking on the door frame.

What. The. Heck, ya'll.

This neighborhood doesn't even have trees big enough for woodpeckers! I opened the door and shooed him away. But he came back. Twice.

Thinking of pulling Frank from where he's lurking behind the tree and setting him on the porch to scare Woody off. More likely, they'd form some sort of coalition to take me down.

Whatever. Real reason for the post? I started a new project!

Made a pattern from another apron...

It's reversible! Woo hoo! It took me awhile, the better part of the afternoon to assemble and put together. I can follow a pattern, but when you're kind of making it up as you go along, it's sort of like putting together a puzzle. I suck at puzzles. Anyhow, this was my practice one. The next ones will be much, much better!

I didn't have the most willing model. What? He thinks he's too good to wear a flowerdy, frilly apron?

And I make dishtowels to match! I'm thinking of opening one of those Etsy stores. Goodness knows everyone and their dog has one. Maybe Nolan would get off my back about having so many hobbies that generate no revenue, whatsoever. :D

You are TOO funny. Sorry about the woodpecker. I think there must be something about you that's drawing the wildlife to you. Do you break into song often like a Disney princess, perhaps?

Your aprons are adorable, btw. You're so creative.

Rarely. And if I did, rather than the cartoon birds braiding my hair, it would probably be like Tippi Hedren in The Birds.

LOL! Yeah, good point.

cute apron, dear! I'll have to post my quilt that I'm working on for the in-laws.

You're so inspiring!

And I second seegrim's inquiry. Are you singing like a Disney princess?
Carrie Leigh: Chicago - happycarrie_leigh on April 20th, 2008 07:53 pm (UTC)
Only if the Disney Princesses are singing Quiet Riot or Showtunes. :D

You know, I think seegrim is on to something... You are A. Making frilly aprons, B. Attracting animals, C. Are something of a storyteller.

How do we know it isn't because your singing attracts these animals?

Oh my! All the woodland animals are stopping by to welcome you to your new house.

The apron is lovely!

*giggles* The eye roll and grip on the remote just add to the overall cuteness. Maybe next time you should use Nolan as your model. ;)

It would be the same picture, only Nolan's much taller.

So cute! Now if it had a longer strap and a bit smaller bag and was pin and black and had skulls......lol.

You need a website or an etsy!

HEEE! I love the model most of all! HEE!

Birds FREAK ME OUT, man. I think you were crazy to open your door to shoo it away. That's what it WANTED. Then it can fly in and peck your eyes out. Were it me, I'd just be using the back door from now on.

I like the idea of making Frank work for you.

This neighborhood doesn't even have trees big enough for woodpeckers! Which is probably why he's giving your door frame a hard time... Or maybe it was Frank! Maybe Frank called him in just to give you hard time, seeing as he was stuck in the yard, unable to reach the door...

Your model is just so enthused ;)

I know that face! "You are so uncool. It's a good thing my friends can't see me right now. What? You'll bribe me? Oh fine." Very nice apron, though! I love the whole reversible thing!

That apron is so cute, despite the unwilling model. Must say I find it quite humerous he's holding the remote control. Did you pull him away from watching TV?!?!

You know it's quite funny that you mention Etsy. I was told about it just the other day and since then have been hooked. I'm a huge fan of their 'how to' section and have already bookmarked the instructions on making homemade paper and fusing plastic bags.

By the way, thanks for the birthday wish!
Carrie Leighcarrie_leigh on April 26th, 2008 06:01 am (UTC)
I'll have to look for that! Interesting.

And yes, he was watching TV. Shocker! If he's awake and in the house, he's holding that thing. It must be ingrained in men.
