My life has been shifted.

And no one was maimed, hurt or died during the process.  We're gonna call that a win.  172 (I think) boxes and 68 pieces of furniture. The moving guy said, "You guys have a lot of stuff."  Thanks, pal.  Move along.

I haven't been this tired in a very long while.  Tired to the bone.  So tired that when I actually sit down, I want to curl up in a ball and go to sleep.

Internet still not taken care of.  Nolan didn't like what I'd done.  Trying not to want to choke him down.  Am pirating off of a neighbor, but the signal is spotty.  I have to hold my mouth just right for it to work.  So there's that.

The house is beautiful.  I still can't believe I get to live here.  It's nine kinds of fabulous.

Will post pics when the maze of boxed is unpacked.  Kitchen and laundry room down.  7 rooms to go. *dies*

P.S.  Thanks to all of you who commented about the wreck.  I'm feeling better; my lip is almost healed and I'm only a little sore, but I don't know whether it's from moving or getting rear-ended.  Does it matter?  Anyhow, thanks for the concern.  You guys are the best.

So, you're using your fillings to get more gain on the antenna? :-D

Seriously, though... I told you it would work.

Probably both.

Looking forward to pictures. :-)

I finally figured it all out, with a little help from tech support, and my husband. Now windows isn't working, go figure. But one of my students put Firefox on my laptop, and I find that I like it a lot. It even has a little livejournal log in thingy. Who knew?

Well, you, obviously...

*hugs* Don't worry, this too will pass - soon enough. The settling in part that is.

Try getting some rest though. Unpacking when you are knackered (ooo, how I love that word!) is really tough. When you are nice and fresh, things happen quicker. Well, at least for me...

I took your advice and went to bed at ten last night... I don't remember the last time I did that, and after 9 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I actually didn't want to string up the dog when she woke me up. :) Going to arrange furniture today. That's the fun part.

*love* Hope the rest goes smoothly, and you soon feel like you're home.

I wondered just yesterday when it would start to feel like home. I'll let you know.

Glad you're back with us! We've missed you!

I'm glad you are moved. I understand about the exhaustion. I've moved 3 times in the last 4 years and yeah, it's always an experience that makes me want to curl into the fetal position and sleep for years.

I hope the internet situation gets sorted out soon. Miss seeing you around. :)

Internet is fixed! I should be around more often!

YAY for finally being in your new Barbie Dream House! I'm really glad your lip is healing and you get to enjoy your big beautiful house. You deserve some good after the last few weeks (well, you always deserve some good - but you know what I mean) and I'm giddily excited for pictures. Perhaps a few of the box maze woudl be nice too! :D

I did take some pics of the mess; I'll be sure to post them, too, just for you. :)

You made it! Congrats on the move. Here's to your new home and the chapter in your life it will bring. Also, here's to this being the end of your bad luck. At least for a good little while!

Thanks. Surely my run of bad luck is over, right?

Well, moving can be very stressful. From what I remember, just moving three houses down was pretty stressful for my parents.

Just make sure your kids don't climb up an empty bookshelf, like I did. It fell on top of me *blushes*

I can't wait for the pictures. This house sounds divine!

My kids are too busy playing outside with all the neighbor kids! And I don't have my bookshelves up just yet. *headdesk*

Will post pics soon!

Yay for being moved in!

Get some rest before unpacking anything nonessential. After all, it'll all still be there next week ;)
Carrie Leighcarrie_leigh on April 6th, 2008 02:23 pm (UTC)
You're right. It surely will be there next week. :)

And quite possibly, the next. *laughs*

Good luck with all the boxes, and as I just read about the accident, I hope everything turns out alright for that too. :-)
Carrie Leigh: It was a dark and stormy nightcarrie_leigh on April 6th, 2008 02:24 pm (UTC)
Thanks. I'll get to them all eventually, right? And everyone is fine, the car's going to be fixed this week, so we're good. :)
seegrimseegrim on April 6th, 2008 04:21 am (UTC)
Ugh to Nolan not liking your internet fix. I'm happy you're making good progress with the unpacking!

I just can't wait till we're both back to regular internet hours. :)

We got it to work yesterday, finally. After much swearing and gnashing of teeth. :)

Me, too. I miss chatting regularly. Shall I send the fic after I edit today?
dL: foodheartdieloreley on April 7th, 2008 11:22 am (UTC)
Oh, don't choke him! It might hurt your hands too and then where would you be?

Am so so so incredibly glad that the move went well! *sends encouragement about unpacking* Just think how pretty everything will be when there aren't any boxes cluttering your space!
