Scale=0, Carrie=2. Heh.
I can tell the hormonal surge for the month has abated somewhat.  You know how I know?  Because I was able to resist the siren call of the tire iron begging me to beat down the idiot mother drivers in the boys' school parking lot this morning.  I told that silly tire iron, "No, you'll just have to catch me earlier next month," and gave it a blithe smile and a pat.  In addition, today I was able to smile and say hello to the shirtless, well-muscled, but Probably Gay Neighbor taking his dog for a run, instead of snarling.  (Why do I think he's gay?  He's way too pretty, his workout shoes match his shorts, no girl is ever with him, and his dog is a Pekinese.  It's just a feeling I get.)

Then there's the October podcast.  I'm trying to put music into it, and as most of you know, I am woefully deficient in the technical arena.  And by woefully deficient, I mean CRAP.  So, I'm working on it.  I have recorded three of the four fics, and I have only the 21 page monster left, as well as the editing.  *rolls eyes*  The editing.  *shivers*  My itunes freaked out yesterday and I spent most of the morning trying not to lose the kagillion songs I have on it.  The up side?  I fixed it (wonder of wonders) and now have Lil' Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham and The Pharohs.  I really do like that song.  It's a classic, and it's perfect for the fic I recorded.  It's actually part of the fic I recorded. (Little Red Riding Hood by StrangerWithMy Face) Anyway.

Playwrighting went well last night.  It appears as if we have a premise.  We'll finish the plot outline and cast of characters next week, hopefully, and then begin some actual dialogue.  Thank God.  caliga_rpg is all kinds of fun so far...  lots of ideas, lots of scening possibilities.  All I need is time, right?  Riiiiight. The fun starts October first, y'all.  Come and play.  There's caliga_fanif you want to comment and squee with the rest of us after the posts start.  Put it on your f-list.  You know you want to.

The boys had their first date last Friday night.  alittleredhoodtook them to the Amarillo High homecoming game. They had a blast. (She was actually babysitting on a night she had something else to do, so I owe her.)

She even made them little arm garters.  How adorable is that?

I was going to the theatre.  No, I didn't leave the house with my hair that big.  Wow.  That's Texas pageant quality hair.  *cringes* There's Katie the Wonder Dog looking out the door, probably to want to go play with the Potentially Gay Neighbor's pekinese.  And by 'play' I mean 'have for a late-afternoon snack.'

Aaaand I've watched the first two seasons of Veronica Mars.  (I love Logan.  I can't help it.  It's the bad boy project 'fixer' in me.)  The 3rd comes out on DVD in late October, and I'm going to die before I get to see it.  Why was it cancelled?  Why do I watch cancelled TV series and torture myself?  First Dead Like Me & Firefly, now this.

Okay.  That's all the news that's fit to type.  Have a lovely day, all.

Oh, Carrie...how I love your posts. They always brighten my day. You are your boys are adorable, Texas hair and all!

Super job on the scale battle. I've been doing my duty...salads for days now, no snacking, no eating after five. March on.

I bet I'm more technically incompetent than you. Technology and I...well, an old landlord once said, "You're one of them pioneer gals, huh?"
Carrie Leigh: dark cookiecarrie_leigh on September 26th, 2007 02:56 pm (UTC)
I don't think anyone is more technically incompetent than I. But I shall join you in your "Little House on the Prarie-ness."

I must say, I have to agree with your feeling about your neighbor, even without seeing how pretty he is *nods* 'Men' don't match their shoes with their shorts or have Pekinese as pets (they might keep them for snacks for their real dogs, but not pets).

Your boys are, as always, devilishly handsome, and you are just a vision of perfection (Texas pageant quality hair and all *wink*).
Carrie Leigh: It's exhaustingcarrie_leigh on September 26th, 2007 02:57 pm (UTC)
*nods* Sometimes you just know.

Thank you! I managed to catch myself in a mirror and tame the mane before I left the house! Whew!

Not at all. I think that's a lovely compliment. But you can't see all the wrinkles and grey hair in that picture. :)

Carrie Leigh: SQUEE!carrie_leigh on September 27th, 2007 02:07 am (UTC)
When Logan does that 'cute face' it's all I can do not to squeal like a little girl. Man. And those shoulders. Whew. COME ON, SEASON 3!

Y'know, if you record the separate things and then just want them edited together and/or with music in the background, just send me the parts and it'd be easy-peasy for me to knock it out of an evening.
Carrie Leigh: pretty ginnycarrie_leigh on September 27th, 2007 02:11 am (UTC)
You know, I may do that. It's a song fic, kind of, I'm sure you've read it, with the lyrics interspersed with the dialogue. So I've been recording my voice, stopping, playing the song, stopping, recording my voice, etc. Then I edit out all the dead space. I would love to fade it, but I don't know how to do that technically, and I don't have that many hands. I'll try sending the song and the recording to you in the morning, (Hubs needs the computer for Fantasy Baseball) and maybe you can work that Mynuet magic on it and make it all pretty. Thank you!
Sharlenemynuet on September 27th, 2007 02:13 am (UTC)
Be sure to send the stuff separately, preferably as audacity files versus mp3s.

That Lil' Red Riding Hood song, wouldn't happen to be the one from the Big Bad Wolf's point of view, would it? If so, I know every single word and danced around to it when I was little. I remember getting the biggest kick out of the wolf talking about having his sheep costume on... Anyway, enough with reminscing.

I have to say that I was HUGE Veronica Mars fan. I watched all three seasons last semester due to alluc.org. I can't even tell you how mad I was to hear it was canceled, along with my other favorite: Gilmore Girls. I have, however, started watching the series that Kristen Bell is narrating - Gossip Girl. Two episodes in and I'm already hooked!
Carrie Leigh: little carrie readingcarrie_leigh on September 27th, 2007 01:39 pm (UTC)
Yes, that song is one and the same. It's cute, huh?

Now I'm a huge fan. It's such a clever show! I'm so very sad that it was cancelled. We don't have cable, and the CB is part of a cable package where I live, so I'll be waiting on DVD for that one, too.
Celina: Hanging Aroundxoxrhapsodyxox on September 27th, 2007 05:11 pm (UTC)
If you wanted to, you actually could watch Gossip Girl online at http://www.cwtv.com/cw-video - As my college schedule is often unpredictable, I normally don't get to watch my favorite shows when they air, meaning I normally look for them online. Most tv stations, like NBC, ABC, and the CW are posting their more popular series online, which is amazing. It's the only way I'm able to keep up with any series.
Carrie Leigh: squeecarrie_leigh on September 27th, 2007 05:18 pm (UTC)
*gasp*

This means I can watch Supernatural, too! BIG YAY!
Jazsekuh: Falling Apartjazsekuh on September 27th, 2007 03:27 pm (UTC)
I'm still trying to fill the void that is Veronica Mars with other shows but it just isn't working. I got into it last year before the 3rd season started so at least I had one season of hope. The crappiest part about it is that they didn't even give us a full season, they put it off the air for about 2 months for the stupid Pussy Cat Dolls *gags*. Well at least the 3rd season wasn't a total waste, I just wish they could have wrapped it up better and hadn't given us hope that it may not be canceled until after the show was over.
Carrie Leigh: Fangirlish gleecarrie_leigh on September 28th, 2007 09:39 pm (UTC)
I cannot believe that The Pussycat Dolls pre-empted Veronica. Stupid studio people are morons. I can't wait til the 3rd season comes out on video! Then I'll probably have to find some fan fiction to get it all out of my system.
